Bradfield College were crowned national champions after emerging triumphant at the finals day of the School Sport Magazine National Schools U18 Girls T20 Cricket Cup today.
The talented side saw off Shrewsbury School in the semi finals and reigning champions Bede’s School in the final to take the trophy back to Berkshire.
At the fantastic setting of Reigate Grammar School, Bradfield looked in trouble in the final after being bowled out for just 90 thanks to Izzy Field (3-5) and Millie Taylor (3-12).
But a superb bowling performance turned the tables as Bede’s were dismissed for just 60 runs with Poppy Tulloch turning in a player of the match performance with five wickets for just ten runs.
In the third-place play-off, Shrewsbury School (104-4) defeated Berkhamsted School (102-9) by six wickets.
